One more time..."it's for the kids". Spending per student up 700%. Test scores flat

As the Obama administration gets set to spend billions more on education lets just take a quick look at how much has been spent per student since 1950 in constant dollars:



And as a result of this massive increase in spending the following chart is indicative of the overall results:

That's right.  Spending per student has risen by almost 700% in constant dollars and test scores are basically flat.

I wonder who is actually benefiting from this massive increase in spending because it is certainly not "the kids".
